For many individuals, the photo on their National Identity (NID) card is so unclear or poorly taken that it fails to serve its purpose of proper identification. To change your NID card photo, you need to fill out National Identity Card Amendment Form-2 at the election office of your constituency. Payment of Taka.230/- (Inclusive of VAT) is required for the National Identity Card Photo Change Application.

Bikash and Rocket, the popular online banking medium in Bangladesh, are accepted for submitting the fee for changing the photograph and signature on the national identity card.

On the scheduled date, your voter ID card information will be sent again to the server with your new photograph and signature.

It is a “B” category application to change the photograph and signature on a voter ID card. Such applications require the approval of the district election officer.

If the photo and signature change application is approved, you will be notified by mobile SMS. Online copies of National Identity Cards can be downloaded later.

For a new Smart Card, you have to apply for a Smart Card reissue. An explanation of how to change the photo on your National Identity Card is provided below:

Download and print the NID information correction form 2. On the printed form, fill in the required information. Using a pen, cut out unnecessary data table parts.

As part of the basic information on a national ID card, a photo and signature are included. For this type of correction in the NID Info Correction category, Rs.230/- must be paid through Bikash or Rocket.

If you pay your fees online, you can write the Bkash Transaction ID in section 5 of your application.

Note: National Identity Card service fees cannot be deposited through challans.

Fill out the application form and send it to the concerned upazila election office along with a copy of your national identity card. 

On the scheduled date, your photograph and signature will be taken again from the upazila election office, and the server will upload it for approval.

The District Election Office approves the application for the change of photograph and signature on the NID card.

The revised NID Card can be downloaded By visiting the Nidw website, logging in or registering, and completing the face verification, you can download the revised national identity card.

A new Smart Card will not be issued to those who already have one. A re-issue application fee is required to collect a smart card.
