Our country has begun introducing smart national cards or smart national identity cards with the passage of time. Bangladesh will distribute smart cards to all citizens by 2025.

Due to the presence of Micro Chip in the smart card, all the information can be extracted instantly using technology.
How to Get Smart Card
The smart card is then transferred to the concerned upazila election office. You can pick up the smart card at the upazila election office. Through village or area-based smart card distribution campaigns, customers receive smart ID cards.
Smart ID cards can be obtained by voters before 2019 by providing biometric information again. During the smart card application process, the retina of the eye is scanned and the ten finger prints of the hand are taken.
While all voters who registered before 2019 received laminated ID cards, many did not receive smart cards. There were only two fingerprints, a photo, and a signature on early normal ID cards.
When there is a mistake on the old NID card, one can apply for correction and get a new smart ID card with the correct information. To get your smart ID card, you must provide all these biometric data again since the smart card collects ten finger fingerprints, an eye retina, a digital signature, and a thumbprint.
The upazila election commission office can distribute your smart ID card if you cannot collect it from the smart card distribution program on time.
If your smart card is ready or the distribution process has started, you can check when you will receive it. A smart card can be generated in two ways:
