If you’ve recently applied for a passport renewal or a new passport, you can easily check the status of your e-passport online to see if it has been processed and received.
This guide will walk you through the steps to check the current status of your e-passport. If you’ve completed the necessary steps, such as submitting your application, providing fingerprints, and completing biometric verification, you can now track the progress of your e-passport online or via SMS.
By checking your e-passport status, you’ll be able to determine whether your passport has been created, printed, and when it is expected to be delivered.
To check the current status of your e-passport, you’ll need the Online Registration ID of your passport application or the passport delivery slip. This ID is provided to you during the application process.
When you apply for a passport online, you’ll receive an Online Application ID in the application summary and on the delivery slip provided by the passport office. With this Application ID, you can easily check the status of your e-passport.
What Does it Take to Check Passport Status?
To check the status of an e-passport, you need either the Application ID or the Online Registration ID. As a first step, you will need both your Application ID and Online Registration ID of your passport application.
If you have a mobile device, you can send an SMS using your passport number (OID1= IDID1 & Date of Birth), or you can check your passport status online.
Current E-Passport Status Check
To check the status of the ePassport, visit the website epassport.gov.bd. Select CHECK STATUS. Please enter your Online Registration ID and date of birth for your e-passport application. By clicking on Check button and ticking I am human, you can check the current status of your passport.
Step 1: Visit the Official E-Passport Website
Check your e-passport status by visiting Passport Status Check. After applying for a passport online, you will receive a page where you must enter your Online Registration ID and date of birth.
Step 2: Enter your Online Registration ID or Application ID
You will receive 2 printed copies after applying online. In these 2 documents, you will receive an Online Registration ID with an OID. The same number will also appear on your passport delivery slip. Please enter the application ID or the full number as OID1234567890.
Step 3: Select your Date of Birth
Now select your birth date.
Step 4: E-Passport Status Check by Filling Out the Captcha
To make sure that you are a real human, tick the box before writing I am human. Solve any captcha that comes up. By clicking on the Check button, you can view the current status of your e-passport application.
E-Passport Status Check Via SMS
To check the e-passport through SMS, you will need the Application ID on the delivery slip. Enter EPP <space>Application-ID in your mobile’s message option, and send 16445 to this number. Your passport status will be indicated in the return message.

What is E-Passport in Bangladesh
In Bangladesh, the ePassport was introduced on 22 January 2020. The first ePassport has been issued in South Asia by Bangladesh. ICAO-compliant passports are available in Bangladesh. On 29 January 2020, Bangladesh joined the ICAO as a distinguished member.
E-Passport Collection
E-Passports must be collected by the applicant personally. Visit www.epassport.gov.bd to Check Status and follow the instructions. A notification will be sent to your e-mail when your passport is ready for collection.
Online Registration ID (OID)
If you are applying for a new passport online or renewing one, you will receive a 13-digit registration ID. OID is the unique identification number for this passport application. ID starting with OID (OID************).
An application summary is provided after the application for an e-passport or passport reissue has been completed, which contains all the details of the applicant. In the Application Summary, you will find this OID. The Online Registration ID is also provided in the form of a barcode.
Passport Application ID
Passport applications can also be tracked using the Application ID. A delivery slip contains the application ID for the passport.
In case you are unable to locate your application ID, you can check it on the Bangladesh online passport office website.
E-Passport Application Statuses and Their Meanings

Payment Verification Result – Name Mismatch | A discrepancy or inconsistency has been found in the spelling of the name on the passport application compared to the name on the challan submitted for the fee through the bank or challan. |
Pending on Payment Investigation (Amount mismatch or Reference number mismatch) | The application is under investigation because the amount on the passport fee payment challan copy does not match the passport application fee amount, or there is a mismatch in the reference number. |
Pending SB Police Clearance | The application is awaiting receipt of police verification and the corresponding report. |
Pending Assistant Director/Deputy Director Approval | The passport application is under review by an officer of the rank of Assistant Director or Deputy Director and will remain in this status until approved. |
Pending for Backend Verification | The information provided in the passport application is being checked at the central level for backend verification. This process usually takes 2-3 days, and if any errors are found, the application will be sent back for correction. |
Pending for Passport Personalization | In this stage, processes such as Laser Engraving, HD DOD Color Inject Printing, Security Lamination, Inline Quality Control (Optical and Electronic), and RFID Encoding are completed. |
In Printer Queue | Your passport is in the queue at the printing branch, waiting to be printed. |
Printing Succeeded | The passport has been successfully printed and is now sent to the Quality Control branch for monitoring to ensure there are no errors. |
QC Succeeded, Ready for Dispatch | After passing Quality Control checks, the passport is prepared for dispatch to the office. |
Passport Shipped | The passport has been sent to the Regional Passport Office for delivery. |
Passport Ready for Issuance | The passport has arrived at the Regional Passport Office and is ready for collection. You should visit the passport office or embassy with the delivery slip to collect your passport. |
